Hurricane Fiona Relief in Southwestern Puerto Rico

On September 18, 2022, a Category 3 Hurricane wreaked havoc on the mountainous island of Puerto Rico as it made landfall on the southwestern region of the island bringing with it 30 inches of rain in a matter of hours. Rivers breached their banks wiping out infrastructure as the water rushed downstream, ensuing mudslides in their wake. There is widespread damage to homes and infrastructure throughout the region with many families losing everything. Most residents had no power or clean running water for weeks. With your help we were able to provide storm relief to the most impacted residences in southwestern Puerto Rico.

Earth Givers partnered with Today’s Satellite Television to distribute solar lamps and bags of nonperishable food to communities in Puerto Rico that were hardest hit by Hurricane Fiona. Through our partnership, we purchased hanging LED solar lamps at cost and were able to source non-perishable food items through contracts with large local grocery retailers. With the use of their cargo vans and the time of their amazing staff many deliveries were made. We were dependent on donations to make the biggest impact for people in need of our support. With your support we were able to support residences in the southwestern communities.
